ask seek knock, Jesus what do you want me to do for you

What would you ask for if the Lord told you to come to Him with a  list of what you most wanted? What would top your requests?

I sensed God putting this before me recently. It was a staggering thought. Was it simply wishful thinking on my part?

The thought persisted, and with it came the scripture, “Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4). Pastor Jake Kail observed, “The more you delight yourself in the Lord, the more you can trust the desires of your heart.”

Doesn’t the Lord wish for righteousness even more than we do? Hasn’t He said that He will do more than we could ask or imagine. Doesn’t He in fact desire to make Heaven look like earth? (Matthew 6:10)

My pastor noted when I mentioned this in a prayer gathering the precedent of God coming to Solomon in 2 Chronicles 1:7 and saying, “Ask what I shall give you.”

Taking a stay-cation style prayer retreat, I closed myself off in my room for the whole day, placing my cell phone in custody of my husband if there were any urgent needs. My children knew I was in “do not disturb” mode.

The time flew. About five hours into it, I started my list. These were “big ticket” items, but I got very specific with the Lord, detailing what I longed to see.

When I finished, I had written out 18 pages in my prayer journal, specifying my top five wants. These were the burning things that have kept me awake nights; the ideals that I hardly dare hope for; the corrupted systems I long to see razed and  replaced with heavenly blueprints.

Think like a king

covenant, agreement, pledge, Holy Spirit sealed, Spirit as a pledge, covenanted people, a better covenant

We are in covenant with the King!

“Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession” (Psalm 2:8, NIV).

“This promise of nations as an inheritance suggests a transfer of authority and dominion. In the historical context, Israel was surrounded by various nations, often in conflict. The idea of nations as an inheritance implies a future where God’s anointed would have authority over all peoples, not just Israel. This is seen as a foreshadowing of the Great Commission in Matthew 28:19, where Jesus commands His disciples to make disciples of all nations, indicating the global scope of His kingdom.” (Biblehub Study Commentary).

God has put everything under Christ’s feet (Ephesians 1:22), signifying His supreme and victorious rule. Scripture says we are heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17).  Therefore, as legal joint heirs, we have the same rights as Christ to reign victoriously over everything that opposes His kingdom This includes sickness and sin in our lives, but also the spiritual forces that govern nations and their leaders.

As Derek Prince observed, “Intercessors rule the earth.

Remembering your calling as a royal priest, what do you want to see manifest in the earth in this hour?
