Change your mind, because the Kingdom is within reach

The church is on the offense

There are a lot of good charitable organizations out there that are committed to doing a lot of good things – and there are some that are outstanding. One of my favorites is Gospel for Asia (GFA), and I want to place it in the spotlight for a moment in my Friday Feature. If you love to invest in the Kingdom of Heaven and want to see your wealth go far, here are a few reasons that GFA is an exceptional NGO!

They give 100% of all donations directly to those in need. Gospel for Asia has high financial integrity as their home staff raises its own funds for salaries and benefits, so that all money sent goes directly to sponsored children and missionaries in the field. They’ve been given the “Best in America” seal by Independent Charities of America

They rely on the power of prayer and regularly request it from their sponsors. It’s one thing to hear a ministry say “we need your prayers” and it’s another to see them almost daily emailing specific needs for individuals affiliated with their ministry, even announcing designated fasts. Gospel for Asia also makes a practice of following up with praises and answered prayers.

Their updates reveal that many in their program are heavily persecuted, and yet are seeing tremendous advancement of the Kingdom of God. I sat down recently to read the periodical sent by another international NGO that does the same kind of ministry as Gospel for Asia, and it was full of heart-warming stories and talked about care being given to the sick, etc. When I read GFA’s quarterly right afterward, I noticed a profound difference. Physical needs were a priority, but supernatural things were commonplace as well. A woman who was a priestess in a Hindu temple and diagnosed with terminal cancer was introduced to Jesus by a stranger and cured instantly by prayer. This was one of many miracles highlighted, and it is evident how much the Kingdom is advancing by the heavy level of persecution GFA and its missionaries face.

Furthermore, Gospel for Asia uses national missionaries, which is a tremendous advantage over foreign missionaries coming over. For one thing, national missionaries already speak the language and can easily pick up dialects. They generally aren’t viewed with the same suspicion or hostility as a foreigner. And, while it requires on average about $75,000 per year to support an average missionary family, it takes on average only $2,520 for a national missionary.

All these and more are reasons I endorse Gospel for Asia for anyone interested in investing in the eternal.
