George Washington, national prayer, UniteDCry, Asuza Now,

In desperate times, our forefathers called on the name of the Lord.

“The scepter of wickedness shall not remain over the land of the righteous, so that the righteous will not put forth their hands to do wrong” (Ps. 125:3). Lord, You promised that tyranny shall not reign over the territory of the righteous, lest Your people be incited to take up the weapons of the flesh rather than those of the Spirit.

We are weary of watching liberty erode, and our country crumble before our very eyes. Let the very foundation stones of this nation testify against its current corruption. Let those who plot evil fall into the nets they themselves have made (Ps 35:8). We know that You are slow to anger, abounding in lovingkindness and desire that none should perish. We beseech you to be a swift witness now to the sorceries that are rampant in this nation (Mal. 3:5), lest they multiply for even greater destruction.

Throughout scripture, even when they had transgressed, the cries of Your people reached Your ears. A remnant yet remains, and we believe in faith that although we are small in number, we are strong in the Lord and in the power of Your might (Eph. 6:10). You said a bruised reed you will not break, and a smoldering wick You will not extinguish, until you lead justice to victory (Isa. 42:3, Matt. 12:20).

Lord, You said that “blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled” (Matt. 5:6). Lord, we say that we are starved and parched for righteousness, in our churches and in our courts and in our schools; come fulfill Your own word and let us be filled!

We repent of the sins of our fathers, especially those in the church who violated Your holy covenant (Dan. 11:32) by embracing Modernism and despising the inerrancy of Your word. We renounce and reject any voice that refutes the assertion that all scripture is God-breathed (2 Tim. 3:16).

We agree with the prayers and declarations of our forefathers, including William Penn and Miles Standish and Jonathan Trumbull, George Washington and John Adams and Abraham Lincoln. “We offer up fervent Supplication to GOD, for His gracious Presence with us—to give us true Repentance and Reformation and to make us fully sensible that our Dependence must be on His Power and Grace alone, to deliver us from all the Evil we feel or fear;—that He would not leave us to trust in an Arm of Flesh” (Trumbull, 1775).

We acknowledge that all liberties come from You, and not from the State. We testify before You that many of our leaders are calling evil good, and good evil, substituting bitter for sweet” (Isa. 5:20). Let not lawlessness increase, lest our love grow cold (Matt. 24:12). Like Lot, we feel our souls tormented day and night by the celebration of perversion (2 Peter 2:8), horrified witnesses to the fact that children are increasingly the victims of our unnatural culture.

We acknowledge that this fledgling Republic was funded by Haym Salomon, a humble and forgotten Jew, who saw a vision that the United States could be a unique nation in its friendship toward God’s people the Jews. We acknowledge that You have blessed this nation which has blessed the Jews, and You will curse that nation which curses the Jews (Gen. 12:3). We declare that the United States is a friend to Israel, and we depose every policy which would harm them.

Lord, You are the ruler of every nation, including the United States of America (Revelation 1:5). As agents of your Kingdom, we proclaim “righteousness and justice are the foundations of Your throne” (Ps. 89:14, Ps. 97:2). The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come Lord Jesus” (Rev. 22:17).
